We went on a hike on the edges of Anjajavy Forest this morning, staying close to the coast so we could watch barracudas and other fish under the clear blue waves. I’m no good at taking fish pictures yet, but I did get this cool snapshot of the smallest gecko I’ve ever seen. Everything about this creature was tiny, including its scales, which were so thin we could see through them to catch the outline of a beating heart (it’s the bulge on the left side of the gecko’s chest).
Whoa.
We did see some other cool reptiles, including several twig snakes, but this microscopic specimen wins today’s wow-contest.
